Sarracenia-Copper Top 1C

Copper Top Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia 'Copper Top') is a fascinating carnivorous perennial featuring upright, tubular green pitchers with distinctive copper-red coloration near their tops, creating an exotic display throughout the growing season. Thriving in full sun with consistently wet, acidic, nutrient-poor soil, this unique plant is an excellent choice for specialized bog gardens and containers filled with appropriate carnivorous plant growing media. Copper Top Pitcher Plant naturally captures insects for nutrients and provides striking seasonal interest, although container-grown plants in central Illinois require winter protection to prevent their roots from freezing excessively.
