Sweet Coneflower (Rudbeckia subtomentosa) is a beautiful native perennial featuring abundant golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers with dark brown centers from midsummer into early fall, complemented by soft green foliage and a tall, upright, branching habit. Thriving in full sun to partial shade with average to moist, well-drained soil, this hardy perennial is an excellent choice for pollinator gardens, naturalized plantings, and the back of perennial borders throughout central Illinois. Sweet Coneflower attracts bees and butterflies, provides seeds for birds, and offers excellent heat tolerance and long-lasting summer color with minimal maintenance once established.
