Louie Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus 'Louie') is a stunning evergreen conifer featuring soft, feathery needles that emerge brilliant golden-yellow in spring and maintain their warm golden color throughout the year, creating a striking display against its graceful, upright pyramidal form. Thriving in full sun with moderately moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, this colorful pine is an excellent choice for specimen plantings, evergreen groupings, and landscape focal points throughout central Illinois. Louie Eastern White Pine offers excellent cold hardiness, beautiful year-round color, and a naturally elegant growth habit with minimal pruning, although protection from drying winter winds and poorly drained soils will help preserve its vibrant appearance.
