An erect aster of prairies and savannas Sky Blue Aster features light blue daisy flowers with gold centers beginning in August. The basal leaves are heart-shaped on long petioles with smooth edges. Sky Blue Aster thrives in mesic to dry soils. Asters are key pollinator plants that provide a welcome source of late-season nectar. Numerous moths use them as larval hosts.
