Nectarine-Flavortop 5C

Flavortop Nectarine (Prunus persica var. nucipersica 'Flavortop') is a beautiful fruiting tree featuring delicate pink blossoms in spring, lush green foliage, and large, aromatic, yellow-fleshed nectarines with smooth, red-blushed skin that ripen in mid to late summer. Thriving in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture, this productive tree is an excellent choice for home orchards and sunny edible landscapes in central Illinois, where a protected planting location is recommended. Flavortop Nectarine produces delicious, sweet, juicy freestone fruit ideal for fresh eating and preserves, and its self-fertile flowers allow a single tree to produce fruit, although late spring frosts and winter temperature extremes can affect harvests.
