Maple-First Flame 15C

First Flame® Red Maple (Acer rubrum 'JFS-KW78') is an attractive deciduous shade tree featuring glossy green foliage that transforms into brilliant shades of fiery red in early autumn, often developing its spectacular fall color ahead of other red maples. Thriving in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, this upright, broadly oval tree is an excellent choice for lawns, streetscapes, and spacious residential landscapes throughout central Illinois.
First Flame Maple offers excellent cold hardiness, attractive early fall color, and valuable shade, although avoiding highly alkaline soils will help prevent leaf yellowing and support healthy growth.
