Hydrangea-Climbing 3C

Climbing Hydrangea (Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris) is a beautiful deciduous flowering vine featuring large clusters of fragrant, creamy-white lacecap flowers in late spring to early summer, complemented by lush, heart-shaped green foliage, graceful climbing stems, and attractive exfoliating cinnamon-brown bark. Thriving in partial shade to full shade with fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture, this vigorous vine is an excellent choice for covering sturdy trellises, masonry walls, fences, and shaded garden structures throughout central Illinois. Climbing Hydrangea offers excellent cold hardiness, attracts bees and other pollinators, and provides beautiful seasonal interest with its summer flowers and ornamental winter bark, although it may take several years to become established and begin flowering abundantly.
