Cherokee Princess Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida 'Cherokee Princess') is a beautiful native flowering tree cultivar featuring an abundance of large, brilliant white floral bracts surrounding small yellow-green flowers in mid-spring, followed by rich green foliage that transforms into stunning shades of crimson-red and burgundy in autumn. Thriving in partial shade to morning sun with organically rich, moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, this graceful, horizontally branching tree is an excellent choice for woodland gardens, front yards, and protected specimen plantings throughout central Illinois. Cherokee Princess Flowering Dogwood offers excellent cold hardiness, valuable spring flowers for pollinators, and attractive red berries that provide food for birds, creating outstanding multi-season interest when protected from excessive heat, drought, and poorly drained soils.
