Acoma Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica × fauriei 'Acoma') is a beautiful, semi-dwarf flowering shrub or small tree featuring abundant clusters of pure white, crinkled flowers from midsummer into early fall, complemented by rich green foliage that develops attractive reddish-purple autumn color and gracefully arching branches. Thriving in full sun with well-drained soil and moderate moisture, this ornamental plant is an excellent choice for sunny borders, specimen plantings, and protected landscape locations in central Illinois, where its winter hardiness can be unreliable. Acoma Crape Myrtle offers excellent heat tolerance, attractive exfoliating bark, and long-lasting summer blooms, although winter protection is recommended and severe cold may cause significant dieback or prevent reliable flowering.
