Chippewa Blueberry (Vaccinium 'Chippewa') is a compact, productive half-high blueberry featuring delicate white, bell-shaped flowers in spring, abundant medium-sized, sweet, light blue berries in midsummer, and attractive green foliage that turns brilliant shades of orange and red in autumn. Thriving in full sun to partial shade with consistently moist, well-drained, acidic soil with a pH of 4.5–5.5, this hardy fruiting shrub is an excellent choice for edible landscapes, raised beds, and smaller gardens throughout central Illinois. Chippewa Blueberry offers exceptional cold hardiness, delicious berries for fresh eating and baking, and a naturally compact growth habit, with improved fruit production when planted alongside another compatible blueberry variety.
