Barberry-Admiration 2C

Admiration Barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Admiration') is a stunning dwarf deciduous shrub featuring brilliant coral-red to orange-red foliage edged in golden yellow, forming a naturally compact, rounded mound that delivers vibrant color from spring through fall. Thriving in full sun to partial shade with average, well-drained soil and moderate moisture, this colorful shrub is an excellent choice for foundation plantings, low borders, rock gardens, and landscape accents throughout central Illinois. Admiration Barberry offers excellent cold hardiness, good drought tolerance once established, and a naturally tidy growth habit requiring minimal pruning, although its Japanese barberry parentage warrants consideration because of the species' invasive potential.
