Hardgoods Need Calculation Formulas
As most of us don't work with formulas on a daily basis, remembering how to calculate the amount of product you need to purchase to do a certain project can be a pain. Therefore, we've prepared the charts below to assist you in establishing your product needs.

Mulch Calculations

Formula for Calculating Volume Need

	Cubic Yard (Find)	Cubic Feet Divided By 27 = Cubic Yards
	2 Cubic Foot Bag (Find)	Total Cubic Feet Needed Divided By 2 = Number Bags
	3 Cubic Foot Bag (Find)	Total Cubic Feet Needed Divided By 3 = Number Bags
Typical Coverage Rates by Purchase Size
	Cubic Yard	Covers approximately 110 S. F. at 3 inch depth
	2 Cubic Foot Bag	Covers approximately 8 S. F at 3 inch depth
	3 Cubic Foot Bag	Covers approximately 12 S. F. at 3 inch depth

Formula for Calculating Bricks Needed
	Edging (Linear Feet)
	Running Bond (End To End)	Number of Linear Feet Times 1.5 = Bricks Needed
	Soldier Course (Side By Side)	Number of Linear Feet Times 3.5 = Bricks Needed
	Patios and Walk Ways (Square Feet)
	Calculate Square Feet	Length times width = Square Feet
	Calculate Brick Need	4.58 times Square Feet = Number Of Bricks Needed

Flagstone Calculations

Patios - Flagstone 1.5" to 2" Thickness
	Pounds/Square Foot	17 to 20 Pounds Per Square Foot
	Coverage Per Ton	Approximately 100/155 Square Feet Per Ton
	Formula	Length times width = Square Feet Square Feet Times 20 = Pounds Divided By 2,000 = Tons
Steppers - Flagstone 1.5" to 2" Thickness
	Stepper Size	A Normal Stepper is One Square Foot And Weighs 20 Lbs.
